FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — New details have emerged after a Franklin teen was flown to an Erie hospital after being struck by a vehicle in a crosswalk on Tuesday.

The teen was struck by a truck at about 12:15 p.m. on September 1, while in a crosswalk near the Barrow-Civic Theatre in Franklin.

Several new details have emerged now that police have arrested the driver of the truck, Nicholas A. Ruby, 36, of Oil City, who allegedly fled from the scene.

According to police, witnesses at the scene reported the victim was “totally airborne” after being struck and was thrown about 15 feet.

Her injuries reportedly included lacerations to her ear and arm and at least one broken tooth.

Police say a passenger side mirror was knocked off the truck when it hit the victim.

State Police responded to a “Be On The Lookout” alert from Franklin City Police and were able to locate the vehicle along Interstate 80 in part because they noticed it had damage to its passenger side mirror, according to police.
