OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — An update was given to Oil City Council on the Public, Educational, Government Access (PEG) TV channel.

After a meeting between The Stream out of Titusville (who council agreed to hire at its last meeting to run the channel), councilman Isaiah Dunham, and Oil City mayor William Moon, plans are moving forward.

“It was a good meeting,” Dunham said. “They (The Stream) are planning a full-time presence in Oil City with a storefront location. They are still deciding where it will be, but they will have a full-time presence in the city.”

Dunham and Moon said a contract should be in place by April, and that The Stream is investing a significant amount of money into the startup of the channel.

“It’s around $70,000,” Moon said.

According to Dunham, once a location is found in Oil City, equipment that is currently housed at the city building for the TV station will be moved to the new location.
