investigationPLEASANTVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police have filed charges in connection with an incident of harassment that occurred around 3:51 p.m. on June 24, on Enterprise Road, at the intersection with Merrick Street, in Pleasantville Borough, Venango County.

According to police, 27-year-old Joseph Michael Love, of La Plata, Md., attempted to drive around multiple vehicles that were stopped at the above-described intersection by a flagger with I/A Construction Company.

“The flagger (a known, 50-year-old Oil City woman) tapped the suspect’s vehicle with her flag. The suspect then exited his vehicle and shoved the woman hard enough that her hard hat went flying in the air, and she was knocked to the ground.”

“The suspect then grabbed the flag off the ground and looked like he was going to strike (the woman) with it. The suspect was stopped by patrons who were on their front porch witnessing this incident. The suspect then got back into his vehicle and continued through the construction zone,” police say.

“There was a pregnant white female who got out of the vehicle and yelled at the suspect to stop,” according to police.

Love was driving a silver Chevrolet Cruze with Maryland registration, although the vehicle was not registered to his name.

He was identified with the assistance of the Charles County Sheriff’s Department in Maryland.

Love was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct, obedience to authorized persons directing traffic, obedience to traffic control devices, duty of driving in construction and maintenance areas and reckless driving.
