SCRUBGRASS TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A two-vehicle accident on Interstate 80 Friday morning in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County, sent three people to the hospital, including one with serious injuries.

According to Franklin-based State Police, Robert Keiper, 48, of Stroudsburg, was driving a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser east on I-80 near mile marker 40 when he attempted to pass a 2014 Volvo D13 Power driven by Joseph Walner, 37, of Brooklyn, N.Y.

The PT Cruiser and the Volvo collided, causing the PT Cruiser to lose control and exit the roadway. It then struck an embankment and rolled approximately four times before landing on its roof.

Police said that Keiper, and two passengers, Holly Keiper, 48, of Stroudsburg, and Kaitlynn Keiper, 22, also of Stroudsburg, were all taken to Grove City Medical Center by Emlenton Ambulance and Superior Ambulance.

Kaitlynn Keiper told exploreClarion.com that her father, Robert, was transported to a Pittsburgh-area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Kaitlynn, and her mother, Holly, suffered minor injuries.

Walner was not injured.

All four involved in the crash were wearing seat belts.

Knox Volunteer Fire Department and Hovis Towing also responded to the scene.
