OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City man was arrested and jailed on Monday morning after he allegedly stole a vehicle in the city.

Oil City Police responded to 110 West 4th Street at 12:06 a.m. on Monday for a report of a vehicle that was allegedly stolen by 24-year-old Billie Owen Sanner IV, of Oil City.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Oil City Police Patrolman Byham, officers were called to 110 West 4th Street for a blue Hyundai Santa Fe that was taken from the residence. The owner told police officers that Sanner had taken the vehicle without his permission, and it was just for him to go charge his cell phone.

Pa. State Police found the vehicle and Sanner on Route 157. They arrested him and took him to the Oil City Police Department.

Sanner was arraigned in District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 22, on felony charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor count of unauthorized use of motor vehicle, and a summary county of driving with a suspended license.

He was denied bail because he was on probation at the time of the incident.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 31 at 8:30 a.m. with Judge Fish presiding.
