UPDATE: Two Killed in Route 157 Crash

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh has confirmed that two people were killed in Thursday morning’s crash on State Route 157 in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

According to a published report by The Derrick, Rugh confirmed Thursday afternoon two people were killed in the accident.

Several calls to Rugh by exploreVenango.com were not returned.

The identities of the victims have not been released.

State Route 157 reopened Thursday afternoon following an early morning in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

According to a representative of the Franklin-based State Police, as of 2:30 p.m., State Route 157 has reopened.

The crash at 667 State Route 157 was called in at 6:49 a.m.

Initial reports indicated three vehicles were involved in the collision, according to Venango County 9-1-1.

Seneca Volunteer Fire Department and two units from Community Ambulance Service were called to the scene.

Pinegrove Volunteer Fire Department was called for traffic control.

Traffic was rerouted at McPherson Road and Hill City Road.

Franklin-based State Police were on the scene investigating the crash.

A state police representative said a release will be issued shortly.
