Three Teens Among Four Dead in Armstrong County Crash

ARMSTRONG COUNTY, Pa. – Sources say four people died in a head-on collision which occurred around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in South Bend, Armstrong County on Route 156 near Gobblers Run Road.

Authorities said three teens in a 2003 Ford Mustang GT were killed in the accident:

– 19-year-old driver Brandon James Sulav, of Apollo;
– 18-year-old Brieyonah Marie Painter, of Kittanning;
– 15-year-old Brandon Sauers, of Apollo

The driver of the other vehicle, a Cheverolet Lumina, 41-year-old Crystal Kay Kelley, of Avonmore, was also killed.

All four of those killed in the crash were pronounced dead at the scene by the County Coroner.

Three passengers in Ms. Kelley’s vehicle were transported to UPMC Presbyterian for treatment of major injuries:

– 33-year-old Robert Edward Kelley Jr., of Avonmore;
– 34-year-old Kent G. Smith, of Elderton;
– 35-year-old Kristy Ann Schall, of Shelocta

Those killed were all pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe speed played a “major factor” in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
