OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Two men are facing felony burglary and related charges following an incident that occurred on Sunday night on Warren Street, in Oil City, Venango County.

According to court documents, Oil City Police Department filed criminal charges against 23-year-old Charles William Stroup and 24-year-old Christopher Steven Bain, both of Oil City.

According to a criminal complaint, around 10:45 p.m. on July 9, Venango County 911 requested Oil City Police Officers to respond to 19 Warren Street for a report of a physical altercation.

While en route to the call, officers were provided with additional information stating the men had left the area. While driving up Cooper Avenue, Patrolman Drake came in contact with Charles Stroup and Christopher Bain, the complaint states.

Stroup told officers that the incident was simply “a brotherly dispute,” according to police.

Patrolman Deloe noted blood on Bain’s t-shirt, and when she asked him about it, he fled the area on foot, the compliant continues.

Noting a strong odor of intoxicating beverage emanating from Stroup’s person and his bloodshot and glossy eyes, he was taken into custody for public intoxication, according to the complaint.

The victim was interviewed at the Oil City Police Department. He stated that Stroup and Bain came to his house. When Stroup knocked on the door, the victim opened the door a crack and saw Bain who was upset with him after not getting paid for helping him on a job. The victim said that Bain quit after only one day. When the victim attempted to close the door, Stroup pushed his way inside and immediately began striking the victim while driving him into the corner and yelling for Bain to come help, the complaint indicates.

Bain then entered the residence and “joined in, punching, kicking, and kneeing the victim,” the complaint states.

At this point, another individual pulled Bain off the victim. Bain then began to physically assault the other individual. After Bain was pulled away from him, the victim was able to escape Stroup and run out the door, hoping to draw his attackers away from his girlfriend and children, according to the complaint.

The victim then fled on foot from the residence. Bain and Stroup caught up with him in the parking lot of an area tavern; they again began to assault him. Bain then removed the victim’s wallet from his pocket, took out $100.00 in cash, and threw the wallet back at the victim, the complaint states.

Stroup then told the victim that “next time they would kill him,” the complaint continues.

Stroup and Bain then walked away from the victim and were confronted by police around the corner.

Bain ran and Stroup was taken into custody.

Stroup was arraigned at 6:25 a.m. on July 10 in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish.

Bain was arraigned at 10:30 a.m. on July 19 with Judge Fish presiding.

No information was available on his apprehension.

Both men face the following charges:

– Burglary — Overnight Accommodations; Person Present, Bodily Injury Crime, Felony 1
– Conspiracy — Robbery-Take Property From Other/Force, Felony 1
– Robbery-Take Property From Other/Force, Felony 3
– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 2
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Terroristic Threats W/Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1

Unable to post $75,000.00 bail each, Stroup and Bain were lodged in the Venango County Jail.

Preliminary hearings are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on July 19 with Judge Fish presiding.
