FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin Police say a prisoner of the Venango County Jail who failed to return on Monday following a temporary leave has been captured.

According to police, around 3:10 p.m. on November 28, Kurtis Urey was granted a temporary leave from Venango County Jail to attend a job interview, and he never returned.

Around 11:20 p.m. on November 29, the Franklin Police were advised by PSP Franklin that they received a call from Kurtis Urey stating that he has a warrant and requested they pick him up at a Rouseville store.

Officers from the Franklin Police Department faxed the warrant to PSP who in turn picked up Urey on the warrant.

Franklin Police met PSP at Magistrate Kirtland’s office where the warrant for escape was served on him.

He was arraigned in front of Judge Kirtland, and bail was denied. He was returned to Venango County Jail to await his preliminary hearing which is scheduled for December 7, 2016, at 1:30 p.m.

Prior to the escape, Urey was lodged in the Venango County Jail on a Bench Warrant stemming from charges connected to a June 13, 2013 burglary in the Oil City area.
