UPMC Northwest Offers Free Stroke Support Group

| August 23, 2016

SENECA, Pa. – UPMC Northwest is offering a free stroke support group for patients and families who have been affected by a stroke. Education, support, and other resources will be made available to participants.

“Having a stroke can be very isolating,” said Robert Pilewski, M.D., director of the program. “By meeting on a regular basis, members help one another face and overcome common challenges by sharing experiences and encouraging one another. Talking to others who have experienced a stroke can reduce stress, ease feelings of isolation, and aid in the recovery process.”

The group meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 1:30 p.m. through October at Hoss’s Steak and Sea House located at 2432 PA-257 in Cranberry. The next program is scheduled for August 25.

Registration is not required.
