Utica Man Accused of Stealing Over $1,000 in Cigarettes from Employer

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin Police Department, a Utica man is facing third-degree Retail Theft after allegedly stealing cigarettes from his employer.

Police say following an investigation, 41-year-old Robert Lee Watson, III, of Utica — an employee of Shop N Save — “removed approximately 15 cartons of cigarettes having a retail value of $1222.80.”

The incident occurred sometime between February 20 and February 21, 2017.

He was arraigned at 10:29 a.m. on February 22 in front of Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland on a charge of Retail Theft-Take Merchandise, Felony 3.

Watson is free on $2,500.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on March 1 with Judge Kirkland presiding.
