ambulanceSUGAR GROVE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Warren-based State Police say a suspected DUI vehicle crash occurred on July 5 around 12:36 a.m., along State Route 69, in Sugar Grove Township, Warren County.

According to police, Matthew Randall Tack, 22, of Sugar Grove, was traveling west on SR 69 and failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway.

Police say Tack’s vehicle traveled off the south side of the roadway, striking a traffic sign. The vehicle continued to travel approximately 60 feet in a westerly direction before striking a parked vehicle.

Tack’s vehicle continued in a westerly direction for approximately 80 feet before becoming airborne for approximately 20 feet before making contact with the ground. The vehicle then traveled an additional 100 feet in a westerly direction before striking two parked vehicles, according to police.

One of the parked vehicles struck was pushed into a residence, causing injury to an occupant inside, police say.

After striking the parked vehicles, Tack’s vehicle rolled over and continued to travel in a westerly direction. While in the process of rolling approximately 60 feet further, the vehicle sheared off a utility pole and struck a fourth parked vehicle before coming to rest on its passenger side facing southwest, police say.

Tack was flown to UPMC Hamot, and the resident of the house was transported to Warren General Hospital for treatment, according to police.

Charges of Driving Under the Influence and multiple traffic violations were filed against Tack through Magisterial District Court 37-3-01.

No further information was released.
