Vehicle Crashes into Tree in Forest County, Driver Escapes Injury

FOREST COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based state police have released information surrounding a recent crash on Guitonville Road in Jenks Township, Forest County.

Police say the accident took place around 2:50 p.m. on February 8, when 33-year-old Michael S. Claypoole of Marienville was traveling west on Guitonville Road and lost control of his 1997 Ford F150 XL Pickup on the slippery roadway.

Claypoole failed to negotiate a left turn and traveled in a northwest direction onto the north berm area impacting a tree, coming to a final rest against the tree facing in a northwest direction, according to police.

He was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.
