ROCKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State police responded to a one-vehicle crash on Friday morning off Route 322 in Rockland Township.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 6:31 a.m. on December 7, 33-year-old William R. Pedley, of Oil City, was traveling east on U.S. 322, in Rockland Township, Venango County. As his 2004 Hyundai Tiburon was negotiating a right curve, it lost traction with the roadway and slid off the left side of the road.

The vehicle bottomed out as it went over an embankment and then struck a tree just behind the front right tire. After striking the tree, the vehicle rotated counter-clockwise approximately 180 degrees coming to rest near the tree.

Pedley was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

Knox and Rockland Volunteer Fire Departments, Emlenton Area Ambulance Service, and Minich’s Towing assisted at the scene.
