| March 26, 2013

OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Three people escaped injury in a one-car crash on State Route 428, east of Dittman Drive, in Oakland Township, Venango County.

Franklin-based State Police say 33-year-old Jill R. Mellring, of Titusville, was traveling south on SR 428 around 6:50 a.m. on March 25 and lost control of her 2006 Chrysler Town & County minivan as she negotiated a downhill curve to the left due to excessive speed on snow-covered/icy roadway conditions.

According to police, the minivan proceeded to slide onto the west side of the roadway and the right front corner stuck a tree. After impact, the vehicle came back onto the roadway and came to rest along the east berm facing east.

Mellring and two female passengers – a 12-year-old and an 11-year-old, both of Titusville – were using seat belts and were not injured.
