Vehicle Slams into Utility Pole in Cranberry Township; Teen Driver Injured

ambulanceCRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Franklin-based State Police, around 3:40 p.m. on June 28, a one-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 157, 148 feet east of State Route 62, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

Police say 18-year-old Megan N. Nicklas, of James City, was traveling west on SR 157, near the intersection with SR 62, when she saw “Do Not Enter” signs.

She applied her brakes and lost control of her 1996 Toyota RAV 4. The vehicle slid sideways into a utility pole on the passenger’s side, according to police.

Nicklas suffered minor injuries; she was using a seat belt, police say.

Community Ambulance transported her to UPMC Seneca.

She was charged with a traffic violation, according to police.

Seneca Volunteer Fire Department, Community Ambulance, and Minich’s Towing assisted at the scene.
