Vehicle vs Deer Collision on Route 257, Seneca Man Escapes Injury

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police report a vehicle vs. deer collision occurred around 5:02 a.m. on July 29, on State Route 257, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

Police say a deer entered the roadway on SR 257 as Ryan E. Sharrar, 36, of Seneca, was traveling south in a 1999 Subaru Forester.

Sharrar slammed into the deer then drove off the left side of the roadway, striking and damaging a mailbox.

According to police, the vehicle came to rest at the mailbox.

Sharrar was wearing a seat belt and was not injured in the crash.
