OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — With the purpose of supporting the fight against COVID-19, The Primary Health Network and The Venango Area Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to provide a virtual townhall on November 24 that will offer useful information about COVID-19 and the seasonal flu, as well as support and guidance amidst the pandemic.

The hour-long virtual event will begin at 9:00 a.m. on November 24.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health is reporting 318,000 cases of coronavirus in the commonwealth, which has placed a tremendous strain on hospitals and first responders.

“This meeting will provide essential education on COVID-19 that will enable our fellow community members to make informed decisions and take actions that support and benefit our entire community,” said Dr. George Garrow who serves as Primary Health Network’s Chief Medical officer and has led the fight against COVID-19 throughout all of Primary Health Network’s service areas.

“The COVID-19 pandemic continues to produce uncertainty, stress and trauma. However, with knowledge comes power.”

This event is free and open to the public and will be broadcast live, on the Venango Chamber Facebook page.

“The purpose of this meeting is to provide guidance for protecting yourself, colleagues and family as COVID collides with cold and flu season,” said Susan Williams, President and CEO of the Venango Area Chamber.

“Having the discussion led by Dr. Garrow, a true leader in his field when it comes to dealing with the pandemic, will ensure those in attendance get the most current expert advice. We invite the community of Venango County to attend this virtual informational event!”
