OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Three Oil City brothers hope to find prosperity in operating large equipment in western Pennsylvania.

Jeremiah Grams, 38, Dave Grams, 30, and Caleb Grams, 22, are among nearly 300 training operator apprentices working at the Western Pa. Operating Engineers Joint Apprenticeship and Training Program.

According to a story on triblive.com, Jeremiah and Dave are beginning the final year of the program while Caleb is entering the third year of it.

They are learning how to operate bulldozers, tower cranes, graders, backhoes, excavators and large equipment.

The trio hopes to capitalize on the growing need for equipment operators due to the growing number of projects related to the natural gas industry, including the Shell Chemical Appalachia ethane “cracker” plant in Beaver County.

The training facility, built in 2013, has seen its enrollment increase from 200 to 300, due in part to the increase in Pennsylvania’s natural gas industry.
