FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — The Venango County Commissioners Tuesday agreed to a contract with Shingledecker Welding to repair three bridges in the county at a cost of $46,000.

According to Venango County Planning Commission Executive Director Jason Ruggiero, two of the bridges are in Jackson Township and a third is in Frenchcreek Township.

The bridge contracts highlighted the monthly commissioner’s meeting that was mostly routine business.

CLEANING CONTRACT AUTHORIZED

A three-year contract to expire September 1, 2021, was authorized with Contempo Tech Cleaning in the amount of $159,600.00 per year.

Contempo will provide custodial services for six county buildings.

POLICY PUT IN PLACE FOR RETIREMENT OVERPAYMENTS

At the Retirement Board meeting that was held before the Commissioner’s meeting, the board set a policy for how accidental overpayments are reimbursed.

If the overpayment is $100.00 or less, the county will reimburse the retirement fund. If the overpayment is more than $100.00, then it will be the responsibility of the person overpaid to reimburse the retirement fund.

OTHER BUSINESS

In other business the commissioners:

  • Terminated an agreement with CATA. This was a housecleaning move, as this was an agreement that was in place prior to the county becoming part of CATA. Now that the county is part of CATA, the CATA solicitor suggested that this agreement be terminated.
  • Ratified a pair of change orders regarding Phase I of the Multimodal Facility. One change order was with Terra Works, Inc. in the amount of $26,127.50 and had to be made because of some conflicts found underground when putting in the stormwater system. The second change was with IE Power, LLC in the amount of $16,595.63 and is so that the light poles will match the existing light poles.
  • As the entity that manages Sugarcreek Borough’s Community Development Block Grant funds approved a contract with IA Construction in the amount of $62,475.85 for the reconstruction of Venango and Russell Streets in Sugarcreek Borough.
  • Gave Emlenton Borough permission to switch its liquid fuels project from stormwater pipe replacement to the paving of Highland Avenue. Emlenton got Aqua PA Water to agree to replace the pipes.
  • Agreed to send a letter to the Executive Director of the Venango Industrial Development Authority asking to allow Donna Rapp to serve a third term of the Authority.
  • Ratified a Juvenile Probation Services Grant in the amount of $116,629.00, which was the same as last year.
  • Approved a contract with Midstate Consultants and with CDT Infrastructure, LLC doing business as L.R. Kimball in regards to the rehabilitation of taxiway H and the terminal apron at the airport. CDT is doing the work and Midstate did the fee estimate.
  • Contracted with Dennis Baker Construction for Hangar 14-1 roof repair work at the airport.
  • Entered into a lease agreement with Gerard Kenney for Hangar 7.
