TWO MILE RUN COUNTY PARK TREES TO SEE LIMBS REMOVED

The Two Mile Run County Park will have some trees have overhanging limbs removed by Stover Tree Removal. Three roads in the park, including Masterson Road, Cherrytree Road and Beach Road have trees that have limbs that are being hit by campers and other vehicles that need removed according to Park Director Rich Mihalic.

Mihalic said the County has contacted Oakland Township and Oakland Township has agreed to contract with Stover Tree Removal. The County will then reimburse Oakland Township in the still-to-be-determined amount that the limb removal will cost through Liquid Fuel monies.

Also, the IBO Archery Shoot will be held Friday through Sunday (July 13-15), Mihalic said. Because of that, many areas of the park will be closed to the public in the Pioneer Flats area.

In addition, the Park will be hosting the Horse Trail Scavenger Hunt Saturday, July 21.

NEPOTISM POLICY UPDATED

The county updated its nepotism policy to include language that defines immediate family member and also says that it is ok for an immediate family member to be hired as long as it isn’t in the same department as their family member who is going to be their immediate supervisor.

According to Human Resources Director Jillian Stephens, the policy was last updated May 5, 1995. She said the intent of the policy is to prohibit immediate family members from supervising other family members in the same department.
