FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – Venango County is getting a new website.

The County Commissioners approved hiring Civic Plus to redesign and maintain the county’s website at a cost of $54,000.00 for the redesign and $9,000.00 per year for the annual maintenance.

The commissioners hope the new site will be more user-friendly as it will include home pages for each of the county’s departments and possibly some interactive features.

There is no timeline for the completion of the new site according to Commissioner Tim Brooks.

COUNTY TO SAVE $50,000.00 OVER THREE YEARS ON ELECTRIC COST

The commissioners also approved a contract with Hudson Electric to be the county’s electrical provider.

According to Diona Brick, Finance and Management Services Administrator for the county, going with Hudson Electric will save the county $50,000.00 over the three-year span of the contract.

“You did a good job of getting that,” Commissioner Vincent Witherup told Brick.

OTHER BUSINESS

In other business the commissioners:

  • Ratified a pair of contracts with Thomson Reuters. One contract will give judges, attorneys, law clerks, district attorneys, and public defenders access to Westlaw, while the other one is for a patron access plan.
  • Approved a contract with CDI/L.R. Kimball for engineering services for land purchase as part of the Runway Three project at the airport. The cost will be $8,500.00.
  • Agreed to a contract with Caldwell Signage Solutions in the amount of $830.00 to put reflective graphics on the airport vehicles as required by the FAA.

  • Ratified an agreement with Ray Showman Jr. Excavating, Inc. to put pipes in at Two Mile Run County Park and approved a change order to said agreement. The county should be able to recover the money for the project through a reimbursement.
