OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — A Rouseville woman accused of theft is due to stand for a preliminary hearing next week.

According to court documents, a preliminary hearing for 18-year-old Samantha M. Winger, of Rouseville, is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish.

Winger faces a third-degree misdemeanor count of Theft by Unlawful Taking-Movable Property.

According to a criminal complaint, Samantha Winger allegedly stole a red gas can belonging to a known woman.

The complaint states that Winger was seen driving through the alley behind the known woman’s residence, then stepping out of the vehicle and taking the gas can from inside the known woman’s garage.

Officer Anderson of the Oil City Police Department states that “he received an admission of guilt from Winger via phone, and Winger brought the gas can to the Oil City Police Department, so it could be returned to the known owner,” according to the complaint.
