Tionesta Man Accused of Running Pot Grow Operation Due in Court

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – A Tionesta man who faces drug charges after Pennsylvania state police discovered marijuana plants in his President Township residence is scheduled to appear in court next week.

According to court documents, a preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, for 59-year-old Edward James Maund II, of Tionesta, in Venango County Central Court on the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor (two counts)

Maund is free on $10,000.00 unsecured bail.

Case details:

According to a criminal complaint, state police received a tip regarding an indoor marijuana grow at 5205 State Highway 62, in President Township, Venango County.

The complaint states that around 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, officers from the PSP Vice Unit conducted a “knock and talk” at the above-described location. The smell of marijuana emanated from or near the door.

Officers met with Maund, and he consented to a search of the residence.

Maund took the officers to the basement where the marijuana grow was located.

Officers processed the scene, recovering 71 marijuana plants, grow lights, and plant food from the residence, according to the complaint.
