Emlenton Summer Festival Kicks Off on Friday

EMLENTON, Pa. (EYT) – Emlenton’s Summerfest starts on Friday, July 7, and will continue through Sunday, July 9, with live entertainment, fireworks, and more.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Friday

8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Area-wide trash and treasure sales

10:00 a.m to noon – Junior Fishing Derby, Kahle Lake North Shore

11:00 a.m. to ? – Firemen’s Strawberry Social, Firehall, Main Street

After 4:00 p.m. – Food and Craft Novelty Vendors, Prospect Street

6:00 p.m. – Wooden Bat Baseball Game, Veteran’s Field

6:30 p.m. – Dragonfly Ballons, Prospect Field

7:15 p.m. – The Marvelous Mutts, Corner lot of Grove and Prospect

Dusk – Kids’ Movie Night, Veteran’s Field

Saturday

8:00 a.m. – Softball Tournament, Veterans Field

9:00 a.m. to ? – Yard Sales

11:00 a.m. – Anything that Floats Race, 928 Riviera Drive

11:30 a.m. – Kids Bike Race, Hughes Park

12:30 p.m. – Kids Scavenger Hunt, Hughes Park

Noon to 6:00 p.m. – Photo Contest, Chicken Coop Studio 306 booth in vendor area

Noon to Dusk – Food and Craft/Novelty Vendors, Prospect Street

Noon to 4:00 p.m. – HO Scale Model Train Display & Model Car/Truck Display, Donaldson Motors, River Ave.

1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Jungle Terry, Hughes Park

Noon to 9:00 p.m. – DJ Best Entertainment, near the pool

1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – The Marvelous Mutts, Corner lot of Grove and Prospect

2:00 p.m. – Pennsic, Medieval warfare demonstration, Hughes Park

2:00 p.m. – Baby Beautiful Contest Winner Announced, Prospect Street

2:00 p.m. – Frog jumping contest, Basketball courts on Prospect Street

4:30 p.m. – Rubber Duckie Race, Mineral Springs Park

6:00 p.m. – Summer Festival Firemen’s Parade, Top of the Hill

7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. – The Mike Peterson Band, Hughes Park

Sunday

BBQ Chicken, Emlenton Echoes 4-H

9:00 a.m. – Adult 5K Walk/Run, Hughes Park

10:30 p.m. – Kids Mini Marathon, Hughes Park

Noon to 4:00 p.m. – Car/Truck/Bike Cruise, Prospect Street

Noon to 4:00 p.m. – HO Scale Model Train Display & Model Car/Truck Display, Donaldson Motors, River Ave.

Noon to 4:00 p.m. – Food and Craft/Novelty Vendors, Prospect Street

1:00 p.m. – The Marvelous Mutts, Corner lot of Grove and Prospect

Also, the parade lineup will be on College Street Extension. The route will turn right on to Park Ave., following Park Ave., Prospect Street, right on to Walnut and exiting down the hill on Kerr Ave.

Parking will be limited to the ball field side of the street along the parade route.

Parking areas will be located in the grassy lot between Buena Vista St. and Campbell Ave. and in the grass below the ball fields (off College Street Ext.).

Parking at Hughes Park will be limited to Saturday. Parking along Park Ave. and Prospect street will be limited to the ball field side of the street to allow for the parade route.

Please watch for and follow signs.

Use of the pavilion and parking area in Hughes Park is not available on Sunday. The pavilion has been rented by a private party. Please be courteous.
