CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – The Venango County Humane Society broke ground Saturday for their new $1.2 million animal shelter in Cranberry Township.

The new site, which will be located on South Main Street, will have the capacity to house up to 36 dogs and dozens of cats.

The new state-of-the-art shelter will replace Venango County Humane Society’s current location on Deep Hollow Road.

Reck Construction Company of Oil City is the contractor for the project.
