Venango County Police To Take Part in National Impaired Driving Crackdown

VENANGO COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – Venango County police departments are participating in the National Impaired Driving Crackdown that started on August 15 and lasts until Labor Day.

In conjunction with the National Impaired Driving Crackdown the Venango County DUI Task Force will be performing roving DUI patrols and Sobriety Checkpoints in an effort to deter, detect, and arrest operators impaired by alcohol and or controlled substances.

The task force will target roadways known for occurrences of DUI arrests and crashes. Offenders will face arrest, criminal charges and accompanying court proceedings.

Officers particpating are trained in the detection of impaired operators, standardized field sobriety testing, and advanced roadside impaired driving enforcement.

The task force is comprised of officers from Franklin PD, Sugarcreek PD, Oil City PD, Polk PD, Emlenton PD, the Venango County Sheiff’s Office, and Venango Countv Court Supervision Services.
