Aunt Ethel’s Spicy Baked Beans

Ingredients

3/4 lb. lean ground beef
1 lb. bacon, chopped
1 large onion, diced
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1 1/2 tbsp. spicy brown mustard
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. onion powder
1 can pork and beans, undrained
1 can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can Great Northern beans, rinsed and drained

Directions

~In a cast iron skillet, mix ground beef, bacon, and onion. Cook until meat is done and onion is tender.

~Combine all remaining ingredients except beans. Add to meat mixture; mix well. Stir in beans. Place in a greased casserole dish.

~Bake, covered, at 350° for 65 minutes.

This recipe makes a great addition to a smorgasbord!
