The bridge was originally slated to be rehabilitated but after 17 extensions for the completion date for Phase I – the 17th was formally approved at the meeting – PennDOT will now replace the bridge.

But, because the bridge is designated a historic bridge it must remain as an intact bridge according to the State Historic Preservation Office.

As such, the state helps facilitate the sale of historic bridges.

The unnamed man from Texas will pay $250.00 for the bridge plus the dismantling, reassembly and transportation costs involved.

BUDGET TRANSFER APPROVED

The commissioners also approved a budget transfer of $145,384.00 from the contingency fund to the prison for the purpose of housing outside prisoners.
