FRANKLIN, Pa. — The Venango County Tea Party Patriots will host Pennsylvania Superior Court Judge Cheryl Allen at a meeting on Saturday, February 28 at Kings Restaurant in Franklin.

The meeting begins at 9:00 a.m.

Judge Allen, an elementary teacher before becoming a lawyer, practiced law for 15 years before being appointed to the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas in 1990. In 2007 she became the first black woman ever to be elected to the Pennsylvania Superior Court where she currently presides. Judge Allen has volunteered extensively throughout her career. The Pennsylvania Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Commission rated Judge Allen as “highly recommended” its ratings of potential judicial candidates seeking election to the state’s appellate courts in November.

She currently serves on the Boards of the Women’s Choice Network-when the choice is life, Hosanna House, Waynesburg University Board of Trustees, and the National Regional Church CARE Advisory Board.
