FRANKLIN, Pa. — Venango County Tea Party Patriots announced yesterday that they plan to hold a “Stop Socialism/Choose Freedom” rally on Monday, April 15.

The event will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Venango County Courthouse Steps located at 1168 Liberty Street, Franklin.

According to Venango County Tea Party Patriots, its group — along with over 300 other groups across the nation — is holding this event “to encourage fellow Americans to resist the failed, destructive, and dangerous ideology of socialism.”

Tea Party Patriots say that history shows that socialism has failed everywhere it has been implemented because it rejects a fundamental ingredient of what makes capitalism successful – private property. History also shows that capitalism is the economic system that has brought more people out of poverty than any other system.

The goal of the rally is to remind Americans that there is no political freedom without economic freedom, and whereas capitalism promotes economic freedom and thereby promotes political freedom, socialism crushes economic freedom and thereby crushes political freedom.
