Venango Nursing Club to Host Annual 5k on October 12 to Benefit American Cancer Society

OIL CITY, Pa. — The Clarion University — Venango Nursing Club will host its fourth annual 5K walk/run on Thursday, October 12.

The event is from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning at the Oil City entrance to the Samuel Justus Trail (across from Venango campus).

It benefits the American Cancer Society.

“I am a breast cancer survivor, and some of my colleagues are, too, but sadly some have not been so fortunate,” said Christina Weidle, nursing instructor and advisor to Nursing Club.

The participant who wears the “best pink attire” will receive a prize. Medals based on best times in age group will be awarded.

The cost to participate is $10.00 per person.

Individuals can also register on the day of the event.
