Vera T. Riddle

Vera T. Riddle, 90, a resident of Chestnut Street, Franklin, died peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2018, in her home, surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness.

She was born May 28, 1927, in Murrinsville, Butler County, a beloved daughter of the late Howard F. and Adaline Fitzgerald Kelly.

She began her working career with the former American Greeting Card Company in Reno; and had retired, following more than 18 years as a M.R.A. at Polk Center.

Vera was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguin fan. She also enjoyed attending area Little League Baseball games and all forms of the area’s auto racing circuit.

She is survived by a two daughters: Nancy Lindsey and her husband George, and Kathleen Drozdo and her husband Robert, all of Franklin; in addition to eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Also surviving is her sister, Mary McKean of Saugerties, NY; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Richard “Rick” Riddle, a great-grandson, Keaton Lee Armstrong and by two sisters: Genevieve Hoffman and an infant sister, Ruth Kelly.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public visitation.
