Schreckengost PhotoVicki Elaine Schreckengost of Clarion passed away at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital on June 26, 2017 following a lengthy illness. <!–more–>

She was 65 years of age.

Born on May 7, 1952 in Brookville, she was the oldest daughter of William and Vera (Maxwell) Schreckengost, both of whom survive.

Vicki graduated from Clarion Area High School in 1970 and then attended Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1974. She continued her nursing education, receiving her B.S.N. from Duqesne University and her M.S.N. from the University of Texas at Austin with post-graduate work from Stanford University.

She belonged to the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and was a Clinical Nurse Specialist early in her career.

She lived in California most of her nursing career, involved in clinical research in cardiology and other parts of the medical field. Most recently, she served as Manager of Clinical Research at Intersect ENT in Palo Alto, California.

Vicki enjoyed sharing her gourmet cooking with her friends and family at home and in California.

She enjoyed SCUBA diving, deep sea fishing, and gardening. She loved sharing her life with her Dalmatians, Emily, Gracie, and Shannon; now being reunited with them.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Bill Schreckengost and wife Tonya of Miola; her sisters, Julie Schaeffer and husband Mike of Sligo, and Sandy Haines and husband Randy of Strattanville. Also surviving are five nieces, three nephews, seven grand nieces, and one grand nephew.

Vicki was preceded in death most recently by her youngest sister, Sherri Lee McGuirk.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Clarion-Forest Visiting Nurse Association, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion PA 16214 (www.cfvna.org), or to a charity of the donors choosing.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion. As per Vicki’s wishes, there will be no public visitation and services for the family will be private.
