Walter Allen Hiles, age 85, of Rimersburg, PA went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Clarion Hospital, Clarion, PA with his family by his side.

He was born on September 11, 1927 in Perryville, PA, the son of Clarence Byron and Sarah Catherine (Foringer) Hiles.

Walter attended school in the Bruin, Sandy Hollow and Chicora areas and honorably served as a member of the US Army in Germany as a tank sergeant during the Korean War. He worked for Roadway Express as a truck driver for 29 years until his retirement in 1988, and during his time there was awarded a safe driving award. Walter was an active member of Grace Community Church of Curllsville and also belonged to Teamster Local 20 of Toledo, Ohio. In his spare time he enjoyed tinkering on various items around the house. He was very mechanically inclined and liked repairing automobiles and remodeling his house. Walter will be best remembered for his friendly disposition and his helpful personality.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 34 years, Dora Ann “Pat” (Young) Hiles, who he married December 11, 1978; son, Robert Allen Hiles and wife, Sharon, of Baltimore, MD; daughters, Judy Ann Hiles, of Akron, OH, and Brenda Lee Hurt and husband, David, of Greensboro, NC; grandsons, Alex Tim Draven, of Akron, OH, and Robert Hart Hiles, of Baltimore, MD; granddaughter, Amanda Pratt, of Akron, OH; step-son, Robert P. Warner and wife, Elizabeth, of Stormstown, PA; step-daughter, Deborah A. Warner-Smith and husband, Richard, of Drifting, PA; twin step-grandsons, Jason P. and Jeremy R. Warner, of Strongstown, PA; step-granddaughters, Taren Smith, of California, and Christin Smith, of Bellefonte, PA; brother, Jack Hiles and wife, Frances, of St. Petersburg, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin, Byron “Barney”, Fred and Eugene Hiles; and sister, Bessie Hiles.

At Walter’s request, services will be private.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Madison Twp., Clarion Co., PA.
