Walter WisemanWalter S. Wiseman, age 91, of Sphere St., in Brookville, PA, passed away in the presence of his loving family on Friday, January 13, 2017, while in the comfort of his home.

Walter was born on December 29, 1925, in Spice Run, Pocahontas County, WV, to the late Walter A. and Lynnette E. (Clarkson) Wiseman.

Walter attended and graduated with the class of 1942 from Clay County High School, in Clay WV. He then joined the military and honorably served his country during World War II, as a member of the Army Air Corp.

He was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Brookville, PA.

On August 2, 1952, Walter married Jean P. (Perry) Wiseman in Morgantown, WV.

For over 64 years, Jean and Walter have worked together raising their family, working in business, and creating a happy home; Jean survives him.

Walter received a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the West Virginia University, and he was a National Inspector with the National Hardwood Lumber Association.

Following this he was Forester for the Deemer Family. He eventually founded, owned, and operated Walter S. Wiseman Wholesale Lumber.

Walter was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, #983, in Brookville, PA.

He liked a good billiards game and he was an avid Hunter. He enjoyed many years of service as a member of the Lion’s Club and as a member of the Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his wife Jean, Walter is survived by 1 son; Walter “Lee” and daughter in-law Melissa A. Wiseman of New Bethlehem, PA; 2 brothers; Glenn Wayne Wiseman and Maurice A. Wiseman; and 1 sister; Charlotte M. Hutchison.

In addition to his parents, Walter is preceded in death by 2 brothers; Raymond E. Wiseman and Charles E. Wiseman; and 2 sisters; Helen E. Eubank and Anna L. Arrington.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family, and will be announced at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, #983, 270 Main St., Brookville, PA, 15825.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, ltd, on Main St., in Brookville, PA.
