CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say an Oil City man who was wanted on multiple arrest warrants was apprehended on Thursday evening.

According to police, 35-year-old Jeffery Scott Feely Jr. was taken into custody around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, as he was leaving a hotel in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

Police say Feely was attempting to leave the area with a large amount of suspected methamphetamine and money when he was observed in the driver’s seat of a 2018 Ford Focus.

According to police, Feely was wanted on multiple arrest warrants, one of which arose from an incident that occurred around 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, at the parking lot of Kay’s Smorgasbord on East Second Street in Oil City.

According to police, officers on patrol observed a dark gray Ford Escape on State Street without a certificate of inspection on the windshield. The officers followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

The officers radioed in the registration of the vehicle and learned it was registered to a known 34-year-old Oil City woman.

Police say a traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle at the entrance/exit of Kay’s Smorgasbord on East Second Street in Oil City. The driver of the vehicle pulled the vehicle to a stop on the sidewalk.

According to police, when the vehicle came to a stop, the passenger side front door opened and Feely exited the vehicle and fled east on East Second Street.

Officers attempted to locate Feely in the area but were unsuccessful.

As the officers searched the area, they were alerted by a witness that Feely had discarded something upon exiting the vehicle.

The officers then returned to the scene and recovered the item which was discovered to contain suspected crystal methamphetamine, one buprenorphine hydrochloride pill, one naloxone hydrochloride (sublingual) pill, and drug paraphernalia that is typically used for injecting controlled substances.

Feely is currently being held in the Venango County Jail.

Additional charges are pending.
