Warrant Issued for Man Accused of Stealing Oil City Woman’s Purse, Car

OIL CITY, Pa. (ETY) — Police say an arrest warrant has been issued for a man accused of taking a woman’s purse and vehicle last week in Oil City.

On Thursday, November 22, officers from the Oil City Police Department were called to a residence on Manning Street regarding a report of a stolen vehicle. The complainant reported that Levi Johnson had taken her purse and her vehicle sometime between Wednesday, November 21, and Thursday, November 22, without her permission.

On Saturday, November 24, around 6:41 a.m., police in New Castle contacted the Oil City Police Department and stated that they had arrested Levi Johnson on unrelated charges.

Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish subsequently issued a warrant for Johnson’s arrest.

He is wanted on the following charges:

  • Theft by Unlawful Taking, Felony 3
  • Theft by Unlawful Taking, Misdemeanor 2
  • Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle, Misdemeanor 2

The charges were filed against Johnson on November 26 at Judge Fish’s office.

Johnson is currently lodged in the Lawrence County Jail.
