* Periods of rain are expected through midday Friday before precipitation begins to change to a wintry mix. Rainfall amounts of up to 2.00 inches across the region and snow melt as a result of the warm temperature may result in localized flooding.

In addition, expected rises from rainfall and snow melt will result in movement and break-ups of ice on area rivers and streams, which could lead to ice jams and flooding.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

A Winter Storm Warning is also in effect for the area.
