Weekend Work Scheduled on Interstate 80 in Mercer County

MERCER CO., Pa. – Lane restrictions will be in place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 21 and 22, on Interstate 80 in East Lackawannock and Findley Townships, Mercer County, due to ongoing resurfacing work.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane in active eastbound and westbound work areas as needed within the work zones, which runs from Exit 15 (Route 19) to mile marker 21 (Springfield Church Road/State Route 2007).

The weekend work is part of a preservation project to improve 6.6 miles of Interstate 80 in Mercer County. Work is scheduled to continue, weather permitting, weekdays starting at 6:00 a.m. Mondays and continuing through noon, Fridays. Work will be done on the weekends as needed.

The project is expected to be completed by September 27, 2018.

PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
