FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Ed and Tiffany Welton are working to bring their own take on tacos to Venango County.

According to Ed Welton, he and his wife, Tiffany, originally planned to start up a food truck selling their special take on fried tacos throughout the local area but changed their minds after discovering the price tag on their dream.

“After some research, we found out it was going to be more expensive than we thought,” Welton said. “But, then we found a location available for a restaurant at a really good rate and decided to go that direction.”

Welton says they’re planning to move their business into a small location on the 15th Street hill in Franklin, near C&S Hilltop Hardware.

They hope to have the location ready to open in early August.

Welton’s Rockin’ Tacos will have a slightly wide-ranging menu, covering everything from their fried tacos — which Welton says are really his own take on empanadas “with a different spin” — to burgers and hot dogs and even fresh, homemade egg rolls.
