TIONESTA, Pa. (EYT) — West Forest second grade students have been studying about different types of communication skills.

They are learning about their eyes and ears and how to communicate if an individual does not have sight or hearing.

As part of the communication unit, a speaker was invited to the classroom to present a lesson on sign language.

As a review of the lesson, the students practiced signing different words and his/her own name.

They also learned how to write their names in braille by using split peas.
