TIONESTA, Pa. (EYT) — West Forest students will be transported to local churches for classes on Tuesday, March 14, while repairmen complete air quality testing of the building.

Forest Area School District Superintendent Amanda Hetrick told exploreVenango.com, “We were delighted (yesterday) with how well things went for students. On Tuesday, March 14, we will once again plan to have school at the local churches.”

All students will be picked up Tuesday morning by their regular buses. Buses will transport children to the school, where they will be reorganized into grade levels and bus them to the sites where their classes will be held.

Parents who need to contact the office regarding their child during the day may call 814-755-3302, and the information will be relayed to the appropriate building.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided as usual.

There will be no afterschool program and athletic programs will be practicing at East Forest.

With regard to the ongoing boiler situation, the administration has received verbal results from the air quality testing.

“The building was tested for 110 chemical compounds and showed only trace results of common solvents and cleaners and the aerosol spray cans which would be used for the school’s typical cleaning. All indicators are that air quality is good,” stated Superintendent Hetrick.

The administration is still awaiting the final written results.

“We are continuing to work with the HVAC Professionals to do some additional testing on one boiler that seems to be of concern and re-route some ventilation. We hope to be completing our work very soon,” continued Hetrick.

Classes are currently being conducted at the following locations:

Pre-K – K: Tionesta Presbyterian Church – Elm Street, Tionesta, PA
Grades 1 – 2: Tionesta United Methodist Church – Elm Street, Tionesta, PA
Grades 3 – 4: Tionesta Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall – Walnut Street, Tionesta, PA
Grades 5 – 6: St. Anthony Church – Bridge Street, Tionesta, PA
Grades 7-12: Church of God, Route 36, Tionesta, PA
