Wet Roadway Causes Rollover Crash on Kennerdell Road

ROCKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Road conditions caused an accident on Kennerdell Road in Rockland Township on Tuesday.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 74-year-old Leatha J. Recker, of Pittsburgh, was traveling on Kennerdell Road. She lost traction on the wet roadway, and her 2008 Chevrolet Silverado started to fishtail.

The vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck an embankment which caused the vehicle to overturn onto its roof where it came to a final rest.

Leatha Recker and her passenger – 66-year-old Guy R. Recker, of Pittsburgh – suffered suspected minor injuries; however, neither occupant was transported by ambulance from the scene.

Both occupants were using seat belts.

Recker was charged with a traffic violation.

State police were assisted on the scene by Rockland Volunteer Fire Department, Community Ambulance Service, and Cliff Hovis Towing.
