William “Bill” Valdesalice, 74, of Franklin, passed away at 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, July 15th at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, after a short period of declining health.

Born August 10, 1942 in Greensburg, Bill was the son of the late Albert Valdesalici and Esther Adaline Held Zwinski.

He was a 1960 graduate of Jeannette Senior High School and a 1990 graduate of Clarion University. He worked at Reno Mold, was the owner of Valdesalice Vending and retired as a Zoning Officer from Sugarcreek Borough and Sandycreek Twp.

Bill was a lifetime member of the Rocky Grove VFD. He was an avid classic car enthusiast, and participated in many car shows with his 1956 Chevrolet BelAir and 1995 Chevy Camaro. He also enjoyed football and was a long-time season ticket holder for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He is survived by his children, Jill Dunnivant of Panama City Beach, FL; Jay Valdesalice and his wife, Denise, of Franklin; Jim Valdesalice and his wife, Leslie, of Bedford; and Jennifer Valdesalice of Franklin; and his 5 grandchildren, Devin and Jacob Valdesalice; and Dylan Gallagher, all of Franklin; Gina Dunnivant of Panama City Beach, FL; and Vincent Valdesalice of Bedford.

Bill is also survived by his sister, Kathy Beauford, his step-brothers and step-sisters, Jack Haubrich (who was his card-playing buddy) and his wife, Dot, of Franklin; Richard Haubrich; Donna Valetti; and Laura French; and his half-brother, Ted Zwinski.

He is additionally survived by his “grandchildren”, Henry and Elizabeth Gent.

Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Thursday, July 20th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 21st at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sam Wagner, Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, officiating.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Venango VNA Foundation — 491 Allegheny Avenue, Franklin PA 16323; and/or to the Rocky Grove VFD.
