William Hibbard Strawbridge,69, of Oil City, died at 3:28 P.M. August 2, 2017 at UPMC-N/W in Seneca.

Born Jan. 7, 1948 in Oil City, PA., he was the son of the late William H. Strawbridge and Helen Hibbard Strawbridge.

William was a 1966 Graduate of Venango Christian High School.

He attended College at De Anza College in California.

On Oct. 4, 1966 he entered the United States Navy and was a lieutenant.

He served on the USS Galveston and completed two tours in Vietnam.

He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Award.

Bill was employed as a Systems Engineer for GTE Sylvania.

He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed photography and coin collecting.

He is survived by a brother-in-law

Ted Bierbauer of Irwin

and a nephew and three nieces.

Debra Jackman & her husband Thaddeus of Cranberry Twp.

Kara Troyer & her husband Jason of Irwin

Kelley Breene & her husband Daniel of Duncansville

as well as 10 Great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister

Mary Ann Bierbauer and a niece Mary Beth Bierbauer

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday in the Reinsel Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Msgr. David A. Rubino, Presiding.

Interment with full Military Honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Gurad.
