William Huefner

William Huefner, 97, of Clarion, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, June 24, 2018, surrounded by family at his home.

He was born on May 12, 1921, in Clarion; son of the late Peter and Bertha Wilt Huefner. William attended the Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Clarion.

He married Martina Bauer on September 15, 1956, who survives.

William retired from Illinois Glass Plant in Clarion after 45 years. He loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren, play cards, and do crossword puzzles. William kept a daily journal for over 65 years.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion. William was also a member of the American Legion Post #66 for 74 years, the Clarion Moose Lodge #101, and the William Penn Association.

He is survived by his loving wife, two daughters, Jean Blachier and her husband John of Clarion and Marlene Baker and her husband Michael of Strattanville, and three grandchildren, Nathan Blachier, and Emily and Wyatt Baker.

William was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Bernadette Huefner in April of 2012, a sister, Catherine Lenhart, and a brother, Francis Huefner.

The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion is handling the arrangements.

William’s family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Church with Rev. Monty Sayers, pastor presiding.

Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
