William L. Shull

William L. Shull, 79 of Franklin passed away at 10:15 AM Saturday, November 4, 2017, at The Caring Place, surrounded by his family.

He was born on February 3, 1938, in Franklin and was the son of the late Alfred and Elsie Baker Shull.

He was a graduate of Franklin High School.

Bill was well known in the community and made many friends over the years working at Wayne’s Meat Market, formerly the National Market, in downtown Franklin for over 50 years.

He was known for continuing to make ham loaf at Wayne’s Meat Market using the original technique that was handed down to him from his beloved mother upon her retirement and continued that until Wayne’s Meat Market closed.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed golfing with his wife and also regularly with his friends on Sunday mornings.

He was also an avid Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers football fan.

On July 26, 1958, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Carole Ann McMillen.

They shared a beautiful life together of over 58 years.

During those years they enjoyed many years of traveling and spending time with family and friends.

They were fortunate to have spent many incredible vacations with dear friends with the family and cherished those memories.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Carole Ann Shull on May 5, 2016, and his brother Donald Shull of Idaho, formerly of Franklin, on October 28, 2017.

Bill leaves behind his daughters, Kathy Urey and her husband Dave of Franklin and Koren Leto and her husband Mike of Julian; three grandchildren; Brad Foster of Pleasant Gap, Sydney Foster and Trey Foster both of Julian; three step-grandchildren, Michael Leto of Lancaster and Jeff Leto and Tim Leto, both of Erie.

Also surviving are three brothers; David Shull and his wife Linda of Oil City, Kenneth Shull and his wife Judy of Franklin and Robert Shull and his wife Janice of Franklin; one sister, Joyce Richey and her husband Charles of Franklin; several cousins, nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews as well as his beloved dog, Maddix.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or services.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin.
