William ElliottWilliam M. Elliott, 83 of Oil City, passed away at 3:20 P.M. Friday December 16, 2016 at his residence.

Born July 13, 1933 in Franklin, he was the son of the late William C. and Hazel V. Moore Elliott.

He was a 1951 graduate of Franklin High School and a 1959 graduate of Grove City College where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Bill worked for over 20 years in electronics at the E.F. Johnson Company. Over his career, he lived in 11 states and moved 17 times for his job and created many wonderful friendships all over the United States.

He loved the outdoors especially fishing, hunting, and teaching local kids how to water ski when he lived in Waseca, MN.

Bill loved to travel and took a memorable trip to Australia to visit his nephew.

Bill was a longtime volunteer at UPMC Northwest and the Barrow Civic Theater in Franklin.

He was Past Master of the Royal Arch Mason Chapter 26 in Waseca, MN.

Bill was an active and faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin and always treasured his church friends.

Bill proudly served his county during the Korean War in the United States Army.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Bill is survived by his wife, Beverly B. Beach Elliott whom he married on December 20, 1957; two children, Julie Spies and her husband Darwin of Waseca, MN and Stephen Elliott and his wife Alisa of Tampa, FL and two grandchildren, Tyler Elliott and his wife Maile of Ciaro, Egypt and Cameron Elliott of Orlando, FL.

Additionally surviving are five special cousins; Dick Elliott and his wife Katie, George Elliott and his wife Marilyn, John Elliott and his wife Linda, Trish Elliott and her companion Jerry Stake and Ted Elliott all of the Harrisburg area; and a niece and nephew both of Bryan TX.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Elliott and a sister, Hazel Graber.

Friends will be received at Christ United Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo St., Franklin from 10 -11 a.m. Thursday. A memorial service will be held in the church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Janz and Rev. Sam Wagner officiating.

Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery.
