William P. (Bill) Peel, age 82, of Tionesta, PA, formerly of Economy Boro, Beaver Co., PA, died on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the VA Butler Health Care, Butler, PA.

He was born October 28, 1934 in Thurmont, Maryland, son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Fraley) Peel.

On December 30, 1965 in Virginia he married Ruth P. (Mason) Peel who died December 4, 2007.

He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Venus, PA.

Bill faithfully served his country with the US Marines during the Korean War.

He retired from J&L Steel in Aliquippa, PA where he worked with the blast furnace.

He was more recently the Green Twp. Tax Collector of Forest County.

He was an avid hunter and loved to fish.

Surviving are two sons, Mark Peel and his wife Tina of Hookstown, PA, and Paul Peel of Freedom, PA and his significant other Anna Bell. Three daughters, Norma Freed of Freedom, PA and her fiancé Mark Forrest; Nancy Kutzner and her husband John of Oakdale, PA; Sherry Pfeifer and her husband Bill of Monaca, PA. 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren. A brother, Joel Peel of Ashtabula, Ohio. Several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Peel; a daughter, Cathy Bell; two brothers, Thomas and Jerry Peel.

Friends will be received at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11 am at the funeral home with Forest/Clarion VNA Hospice Chaplain Rev. Randy L. Evans, officiating.

Burial at Venus Cemetery, Venus, PA. Full military rights will be accorded.
